The spread of novel coronavirus(COVID-19)in the world has brought great challenges to the development of human society.Especially for international students,they are not only physically and mentally impaired,but also face challenges in academic,financial,life planning and other aspects.This study explored the plight of international students in the context of the epidemic situation through qualitative research method,and found that this group is facing different degrees of difficulties in economic,academic,psychological,emotional and life planning.The author analyzed the causes of these dilemmas from the perspective of ecosystem theory,and found that the dilemmas faced by international students during the COVID-19 were the result of the interaction between individuals and the environment,which were mainly affected by the comprehensive effects of three systems: micro,meso and macro.At the micro level,it mainly includes the inadequacy of self-mental endurance,deviant learning psychology and behavior,fixed and conservative learning cognition,and the imbalance of personal income and expenditure.At the middle level,there are insufficient material supplies at home,diminished peer support,discontinued school scholarships,and the drawbacks of online learning.On the macro level,overseas students face different degrees of difficulties due to the negative impact of social environment,the adverse management of global blockade,the shortage of hardware facilities in their home countries and the differences of cultural concepts between China and foreign countries.Finally,this study attempts to explore the intervention strategies of social work,enhance the individual ability and strength of international students,improve the environment in which they live,achieve the adaptive balance between people and the environment,and finally relieve and solve the dilemma faced by international students to promote their comprehensive and sustainable development.Specifically including: at the micro level,integrate a variety of social work methods to provide integrated services to solve the plight of international students;At the medium level,social workers can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of multiple subjects to assist international students in coping with difficulties by strengthening the support of their families,enhancing the interaction between international students and their peers,guiding teachers to strengthen their support and care for international students,and recruiting volunteer service teams.On a macro level,social workers can in the foreign student management policy,financial assistance system for poor students to build,and advocate proponent and the roles in global governance,improve the state of the environment of foreign students,to build a good and healthy learning and living environment,promote their recovery and environment adaptability of balance.This paper makes up for the lack of research on the development status of international students in "One Belt And One Road" countries along the COVID-19,provides theoretical support and practical suggestions for international students to cope with the development dilemma,and provides important decision-making reference for optimizing and improving the management policies and models for international students.
