Senior high schools have to face the pressure of college entrance examination,therefore,class tutor undertake not only his/her subject teaching,but also daily affairs management of class,moral education,psychological counseling,subject selecting guidance,home-school Communication and so on.The time to contact with students is long.and students can be greatly influenced by the class tutor.The work of class tutor is a long-term and arduous task.The work of class tutor is fussy and class tutor have no absolute off-work time.So there are less and less teachers who are willing to be the class tutors.and most senior high schools are difficult to find enough qualified class tutors.However,there is an abnormal phenomenon in X senior high school of Zhongshan city,Guangdong province.The number of teachers applying the class tutor position is larger than that is needed.Therefore,the central issue of this article is:Why there are so many teachers to applying the position of the class tutor?What's their driving force to apply the position of the class tutor?And how is the work efficiency under the driving force?Referring to questionnaire of class tutor work and teaching motivation compiled by researcher at home and abroad,this research divides work motivation of willing to be class tutor into three dimensions:the ideal driving motivation,the contact driving motive and interest driving motivation.Get the work motive of senior high school class tutor by questionnaire and interview of some teachers in X senior high school.Research shows that 60%teachers are willing to be class tutor,but most are driven by external factors(professional titles evaluation).In addition,this research divides the reasons why teachers are unwilling to be the class tutor into six dimensions:work itself,self-cognition,school management,organization climate,career cognition and career payback.Most teachers who unwilling to be class tutor consider that there is too much work pressure,too long work time and unreasonable school management in class tutor work."Carrot style" driving force will weaken the internal work motivation of class tutor,phenomenon arises that some class tutor's work enthusiasm is not high enough and motivation power is insufficient.These problems are caused by not only class tutors themselves,but also the class tutor's work itself and school management.According to the analysis of problems and reasons existed in the driving force of class tutor's work,the author put forward the following suggestions after interviewing with the experts among class tutors.First,inspire the internal driving force of being a class tutor.Second,peer assistance-improve and strengthen the impetus of organization climate.Thirdly,humanistic management-improve and strengthen the pulling force of management department.Hoping this research can help education departments and schools to dig out the power source of the work of class teachers,and can provide reference for improving the driving force of class turors in senior high schools.
