An Empirical Study Of Male Attention Based On Bibliometrics And Questionnaires

With the development of the progress of the society,women's abilities have been recognized constantly.Women have achieved not second to men in every field.At the same time,the feminist movement around the world continues to make progress,and women have gradually attracted more attention.On the contrary,men suffer from poor academic performance,addiction to games,and declining competitiveness.However,the public and scientific researchers do not pay much attention to men,which further aggravates the problems in men's development.Based on the existing theoretical basis of attention research,this paper explores and studies male attention from both academic and social dimensions,through two methods of bibliometrics and questionnaire survey,and by form of empirical research.The main work completed in the paper is as follows:1.Analyze and compare the publication time series,topic distribution,keyword clustering and mutation words of literatures related to male/female studies,and verify the hypothesis that male academic attention is low;2.Compare the author network,institution network,citation network and fund support of male/female research literature,and analyze and verify the influencing factors of academic attention;3.Study the social attention of men through questionnaire survey.On the basis of the theory and practice of other research objects' attention,A subjective and objective evaluation model with four variables was built.Based on this,a questionnaire is designed to comprehensively evaluate the social attention of men and verify the hypothesis that the social attention of men is low.4.Perform partial extension analysis according to the questionnaire survey data.Finally,it is verified that male academic attention is lower than female attention,while there is no obvious difference between male social attention and female social attention.In the process of verifying the hypothesis,it was found that male academic attention was low,and there was a lack of high-quality literature guidance,and the scientific research fund provided insufficient support for male research,so male research needed to be strengthened.Gender issues have generally gained more attention,male social attention and female social attention is basically equal.There were cognitive biases in gender attention and gender development among the respondents.Baidu Index has some errors in reflecting the social attention of a certain group.The research on male attention enriches the results of male studies,reflects the imbalance in the field of male and female studies,and the lack of male studies.It also reveals that the social attention of men and women tends to be equal,which provides a certain research basis for the future studies on male and gender issues.
