Geography study travel is an important aided method of the traditional geography teaching process,which contributes to training students’ practical inquiry ability,as well as improving their geographic accomplishment.Performance assessment performs well in assessing students’ comprehensive quality such as abilities and values,and has become an important assessment method of the traditional geography teaching process.While formulating and implementing the performance assessment of geography study travel,teachers cannot find many more related academic references for there are few studies on the performance assessment of geography study travel at present.In order to enable teachers to conduct the performance assessment during the geography study travel more professionally,and promote the improvement of junior high school students’ abilities through the assessment,this paper researches on the performance assessment of junior high school students’ geography study travel.Firstly,the paper makes a research on the status of performance assessment of junior high school students’ geography study travel by using questionnaire method and qualitative observation method,discovers the problems of the assessment,and collecting the teachers’ opinions and suggestions on it,which lays the foundation for the further research on the performance assessment of junior high school students’ geography study travel.Secondly,according to the problems found in the survey,the paper constructs an index system of the performance assessment of junior high school students’ geography study travel.This paper designs the junior high school students’ geography study travel performance scale by five steps as follows: determining assessment subjects,selecting assessment indicators,setting indicator weights,clarifying assessment criteria,and developing an assessment scale,and attaches the using and revision instruction for the scale.Lastly,this paper puts forward specific application suggestions from three aspects,namely assessment subject,assessment organization,and assessment result.The main conclusions obtained are as follows:Firstly,the current performance assessment of junior high school students’ geography study travel in our country lacks a universal assessment index system,the existing performance assessment scale is not perfect enough,and the implementation effect of the assessment is not ideal enough.Secondly,In order to provide reference tools for teachers and students,the paper constructs an index system of the performance assessment of junior high school students’ geography study travel.The index system includes five first level indicators and ten second level indicators.Each second level evaluation index contains four evaluation criteria,which are presented in the form of evaluation scale.Thirdly,In order to play the role of the application of assessment index system,the paper puts forward some suggestions on it.In the aspect of assessment subject,teachers can revise the evaluation index system as needed,and strengthen the learning of relevant knowledge,students should also strengthen the mastery of the performance assessment content of geography study travel.In the aspect of assessment organization,the proportion of teachers and students in the organization evaluation should be greater than 1:10,and the number of students in the inquiry group should be about 5,and the evaluation should always adhere to the principle of fairness and justice Principle.In the aspect of assessment result,the assessment results should be continuously tracked and feedback,and be reflected in time.
