Since the beginning of the new century,with the continuous development of economic globalization,the diversity of the world political pattern and the advance of science and technology as well as culture,education around the world has been faced with unprecedented opportunities and challenges.On account of the increasingly fierce talent competition,education internationalization and informatization have become a tendency for the world education innovation and development.Numerous challenges lie in the way of education internationalization,requiring senior high schools to build new curriculum systems which accord with the cultivation objectives for future talents.The core task of education reform consists in school reform,in which building characteristic schools is an inevitable choice.The Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Modernization of Education(2018-2022)issued by the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council demonstrates that it is essential to promote the consolidation and improvement of basic education,accelerate the popularization of high school education,and stimulate the high-quality and featured development of ordinary high schools.The relationship between characteristic schools and featured curriculum is inseparable.In the process of constructing characteristic schools,featured curriculum play a crucial role.In the comprehensive implementation phase of the new curriculum reform,it is urgent that the high school principal should display more outstanding leadership in curriculum planning,implementation,management,monitoring,assessment,culture construction of featured curriculum and so on,aiming to meet the challenges of education informatization,satisfy the demands of the high school new curriculum reform and the comprehensive reform of the college entrance examination,enhance students' core literacy and promote their all-round development of morality,intelligence,physique and aesthetic.As the soul of a school,the principal possesses leadership in both administration and curricula,especially featuredcurriculum.Consequently,not only is improving the principal's curriculum leadership an inherent need of the principal's professional development,but also it is a favorable guarantee for achieving fair and quality development of education.This research paper,from the perspective of system theory,has analyzed such factors that affect the featured curriculum as school history,school-running resources,institutions and policies,development vision,internal resources,structure,culture-cognition and principal leadership,classifying them into three parts,including the external elements,the internal elements and the key variable.It has analyzed each element in the featured curriculum and constructed external elements as the driving force to join the internal forces with the attractive effect of the key variable,the leadership of principal,thus establishing the featured curriculum system model.The author has also studied the relationship between principal leadership and the featured curriculum through the case study of W School in Xi'an,and made a comprehensive,rational and in-depth analysis of principal leadership and the featured curriculum in the context of internationalization from both static and dynamic perspectives.It has answered two main questions: 1.What is the cause of the development of the featured curriculum under principal leadership? 2.How should the principal lead the development of the featured curriculum? And this paper proposes some suggestions on how to enhance the principal leadership of the featured curriculum.Hopefully,principals can adapt to the changes of the social environment,strengthen their quality,properly use the resources and establish a correct concept.This paper consists of four chapters.Chapter one expounds the background of the research on the relationship between the featured curriculum construction and principal leadership under the background of internationalization and presents the relationship between senior high school principal leadership and the featured curriculum construction.Additionally,the author defines the relevant concepts of principal leadership,the featured curriculum in high school,etc.And based on the explanation of system theory,the featured curriculum construction is regarded as a system,which forms a framework for analysis.In chapter two,the relationship between senior high school principal leadership and the featured curriculum construction under the background of internationalization is constructed,and the elements,structure and functions of the featured curriculum construction are analyzedbased on system theory.Chapter three,by taking W School as an example,makes an analysis of the macro background,internal quality,development as well as the questionnaire on principal leadership of the featured curriculum construction,followed by an empirical analysis of the relationship between principal curriculum leadership and the featured curriculum.Chapter four makes a logical analysis of principal leadership and the featured curriculum construction,and then puts forward some relevant suggestions on improving principal's leadership of the featured curriculum.By adopting methods of literature analysis,case study,questionnaire,interview as well as book reading and network reading to enrich the research,this paper strives to sort out and summarize the relevant information on current research.Under the background of internationalization,beginning with the featured curriculum construction under principal leadership in W School,this paper explores the factors influencing principal leadership of the featured curriculum construction in the process of carrying out the featured curriculum construction and the approaches to improve it,which will be of some practical significance in the study of promoting the featured curriculum construction under the background of internationalization.
