Exploration And Practice Of "Five Stages And Three Rounds" Training Mode In Senior High School Biology Competition

The energy,medical,food problems currently facing the humankind are all closely related to biological science.All those problems can be solved by the research and application of biological science,for which a large number of top talents in the biological sciences are needed to join the research field.However,under the influence of the education system,the current top talents in the field of biological science are still extremely insufficient.Therefore,on the background of new curriculum reform and the college entrance examination,conducting necessary training in biological competitions for high school students and providing a better learning platform for students who have interests,expertise and innovative potential in biology not only have positive effects on selecting some good students in advance for the biology major of Chinese univisities,but also are of great significance to the selection and cultivation for top talents in the field of biological science.This article first introduces the biology competitions at all levels such as The International Biology Olympiad,the National Biology Competition for Middle School Students,the National Biology League for Middle School Students,and the development of the preliminary competitions,the content of examinations and the setting of awards.By analysis of the awards and training of the biological competitions in Jiangxi Province,the paper finds that it has a certain foundation but the development has been highly uneven and many trainings of local biological competitions lack systematicness.According to the survey,this papers proposes a new model for the construction of scientific system and trainings for biological competitions called “five-stage and three round”,combined with the transfer theory of learning,memory theory,and constructivism theory.It also explains the meaning,objectives,process and strategy,and results of application.“five-stage” in this mode refers to the five stages of entire training process of top talents in biology: interest stimulation stage,basic learning stage,consolidation and improvement stage,pre-match sprint stage and post-match mentoring stage.“Three round”refers to three rounds of knowledge learning for specific periods of training in the competition,including a round of new learning,a round of system review,and a round of specific review.Then it further discuses from the following aspects: how to simulate interest and select talents;how to arrange teaching content reasonably and build a reasonable knowledge network.In combination of flipped classroom and massive open online courses,it can promote students’ autonomous deep learning and teach students learning methods how to improve their learning abilities,cultivate competition teams and promote students work together.Also,it attaches importance to experimental training strategies and post-match tracking guidance and so on to explore the "five-stage and three-round mode of competition training strategies.
