The Chinese language teaching in New Zealand started relatively late,and the existing Chinese language teaching syllabus is not fully applicable to the local Chinese language teaching.At the same time,there is a shortage of localized Chinese teaching materials suitable for New Zealand,and Chinese teaching and promotion are facing great challenges.Most Chinese learners in New Zealand are primary and secondary school students.Can the popular game teaching method arouse the interest of primary and secondary school students in New Zealand,how is the teaching effect,it is the main issue to be discussed in this article.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly elaborates the origin of the topic,the research objectives and contents,and the innovation of the topic,as well as the related research on the game teaching method.The second chapter explains the concept of game teaching method,and takes five primary schools in Lincoln,New Zealand as the research object.These five primary schools have different teaching facilities,environment and support degree for Chinese teaching,so they are highly representative in Chinese teaching in the south island of New Zealand.By analyzing the current situation of Chinese language teaching in New Zealand and the situation of Chinese language teaching in five primary schools,this paper discusses the necessity and feasibility of using game teaching method in Chinese language classroom in Lincoln,New Zealand.The third chapter selects the three most representative teaching games in the process of Chinese teaching in Lincoln area to demonstrate their specific teaching applications.The fourth chapter compares the teaching effect of game teaching method with that of traditional teaching method through the questionnaire survey of learners,and summarizes the teaching effect of game teaching method in primary school in Lincoln area,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of game teaching method in this area,and puts forward some specific improvement measures after teaching reflection.It is concluded that the game teaching method is an effective teaching method for Chinese classroom teaching in New Zealand.
