Teaching evaluation is a crucial teaching method that helps instructors to judge students’ situation on some important educational variables worthy of attention.It is a teaching process of consciously assessing the status of students’ learning process based on factors such as students’ mastery of knowledge,acquisition of skills,attitude and value.The teaching evaluation of an art course is one of the important means to test the quality of art teaching.This kind of teaching evaluation does not only rely on the subjective impression of the instructor,but also a systematic evaluation method for judging the learning situation of students.In-class art work is one of the objects of art teaching evaluation,which also the main component of art teaching evaluation,especially in primary schools.However,there are still problems and deficiencies in primary schools,such as instructors’ unilateral and discouraging comments and heavy workloads in grading.This paper analyzes the problems in the evaluation of in-class work for art classes in primary schools by collecting a large amount of data and involving the author’s own teaching practices and proposes a more scientific evaluation method.This article consists of six parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the background,significance,methods and literature review of domestic and foreign researches,which provides a theoretical basis for this research.The second part is the investigation and analysis of the evaluation of art classroom teaching in primary schools.It mainly focuses on the requirements of the new curriculum standards,the results of interviews with instructors in practice,the questionnaire analysis of students during each period in primary school,and the evaluation principles,contents and methods.The third part is the method of teaching evaluation in various learning areas.This part will discuss the methods and strategies of teaching evaluation on the basis of the following four learning areas,"Modeling,Performance","Design.Application","Appreciation.Comment," Synthesis.Exploration".The fourth part mainly takes the practical results of Yangpu Primary School in Yangpu District,Shanghai,as an example to reflect on the current evaluation of art teaching in primary schools through the samples of "Paradise of Dinosaurs" with self-evaluation,peer evaluation&teacher evaluation and "Flying to Space" with in-class assignment evaluation.The fifth part summarizes the problems,causes and prospects,and proposes reasonable suggestions to provide useful reference and lessons for the evaluation of art teaching in primary schools.The sixth part is the conclusion.
