Since the reform and opening up,a large number of soldiers have thrown themselves into the tide of China’s economic construction after retirement. After hard work and struggle, many of them have entered the senior management of enterprises and become the leaders of enterprise development. In their management style,it is not difficult to find loyalty, hard work, responsibility and unyielding and other typical military characteristics.Based on the theory of high-level echelon, many research results show that the early experience of senior executives will have an important impact on corporate decisions. In recent years, senior executives’ military experience has become a new entry point in the study of corporate decision-making behavior.Under the background of building an innovation-oriented country, this paper takes micro-enterprises as samples to investigate the influence of senior executives’ military experience on enterprise innovation,so as to provide some reference for improving enterprise innovation level and optimizing placement of ex-soldiers.Through the theory and mechanism analysis, this paper first draws that the individual experiences with the army military culture, the influence of the system and the military training, will form the loyalty, rigorous, responsible and diligent professionals and strict discipline, such as a typical military characteristics, these characteristics affect executive management style, and impact on enterprise innovation. On this basis, based on the Shanghai and shenzhen a-share listed companies as research samples, whether to have A military background are grouped on the basis of executives, and 2008-2018 to the two sets of enterprise innovation investment behavior, the results show that the military background executives in the enterprise innovation r&d main business income of the average proportion are higher than no military background executive office of the company,in contrast,industry-wide samples, the gap between them is more significant in the samples of manufacturing enterprises. In order to comprehensively measure the innovation performance of enterprises, this paper constructs three indexes of innovation input intensity, innovation output level and innovation efficiency as the explained variables.Based on theoretical analysis and existing studies, relevant research hypotheses were proposed, and the a-share manufacturing listed companies in Shanghai and shenzhen from 2008 to 2018 were used as research samples for empirical test.First of all,the research based on the impact effect found that compared with the enterprises with no military background, the enterprises of senior executives with military experience have better innovation performance. In other words, senior executives’ military experience has a significant positive impact on the innovation input intensity, innovation output level and innovation efficiency of enterprises.Second, the senior military experience relationship between the enterprise innovation and heterogeneity study found that in different property right attribute, ownership structure, industry market competition and regional system environment, senior military experience’s influence on the enterprise innovation performance effect: there are some differences compared with non-state-owned enterprises, senior military experience on enterprise innovation output level and promote the efficiency of innovation in state-owned enterprises more stronger; The more concentrated the ownership structure of enterprises, the stronger the promotion of senior executives’ military experience on the investment intensity of enterprise innovation; The more intense the market competition in the industry of the enterprise, the stronger the promotion effect of senior executives’ military experience on the innovation output level and innovation efficiency of the enterprise; The worse the institutional environment in which the enterprise is located, the stronger the promotion effect of senior executives’ military experience on the innovation output level and innovation efficiency of the enterprise. Finally,to explore the transmission mechanism shows that government and enterprises association degree and executive confidence in executive military experience on enterprise innovation input intensity in the positive influence of partial intermediary role, namely executive military experience can through correlation and improve enterprise and the government, the executive confidence improve enterprise innovation input intensity.Based on the above research conclusions, this paper proposes the following three Suggestions: first, give full play to the characteristics of soldiers to promote enterprise innovation; We will strengthen training for ex-servicemen paper is as follows: first, based on the high-level echelon theory, brand theory, human capital theory and the analysis of the characteristics of China’s soldiers, this paper reorganizes the mechanism of the influence of senior executives’ military experience on enterprise innovation.Second,it measures the innovation performance of enterprises from the three dimensions of innovation input intensity, innovation output level and innovation efficiency, deeply analyzes the influence of senior executives’ military experience on enterprise innovation, and considers the regulating effect of enterprise property right attributes and industry competition on the relationship between them.Thirdly,it tries to explore and study the mechanism between senior executives’ military experience and enterprise innovation, and explains the relationship between senior executives’ military experience and enterprise innovation investment intensity from two aspects: the degree of governmententerprise
