A Report On Russian-Chinese Translation Practice Of Shtlik's "Amazing Years" (Chapter 1-3)

China and(Soviet Union)have a long history in terms of military exchanges.At present,China-Russia relations are entering a new era of development,and cooperation and exchanges in the military field,including military history research,have deepened day by day.Memoirs play a crucial role in supplementing the archival historical materials.The translation of this text can supplement the materials of The Great Patriotic War in China,enabling readers to understand the details of the war from the perspective of the Soviet Red Army grassroots officers and soldiers who experienced the war,and deepen the understanding of the justice of the anti-Fascist war as well as the hard-won victory.The content of this work about the translation is the first three chapters of Soviet Lieutenant General Sergei Vladimilovich Shtrik's Memoirs of The Great Patriotic War?How it was?,which mainly describes his experience from joining the army to breaking out of the enemy's siege in the autumn of 1941.This work aims to apply theoretical knowledge into translation practice,summarize the difficulties encountered in the translation process and their solutions,and explore the experience of military history text translation.Firstly,the translator referred to a large number of historical materials and maps to understand the historical background and geographical environment of the original text.Secondly,he/she became familiar with the text and the author's resume,and had an overall grasp of the original text,and then started translation.This work,based on the translation of the original text,adopted the domestication translation strategy,focuses on the translation of proper nouns and military term,and selected typical cases and quoted many relevant works as arguments to analyze and summarize the methods of text translation.The addition and subtraction methods were mainly used in the translation of military terms and military terms,and annotations were supplemented.In the process of translation,the translator investigated and verified a large number of people's names and place names in the text one by one in a serious and responsible manner,and annotated the meaning of the term in the translation by taking the reader's acceptance into full consideration.It is hoped that this translation can provide a reference for researchers in the history of the Great Patriotic War.
