In the transition period of style around the 1860 s,people's new understanding of music promoted the exploration of various fields.The composer at this time had a highly personal mode of expression,which Rosen calls "mannerist." It is exploratory,often surprising,astonishing and impressive.Among them,Rosen highlighted Haydn's symphonies in Classical Style,arguing that "This unexpected writing pattern was not uncommon in Haydn's works".Therefore,this paper follows the pace of Rosen's writing and studies the "mannerist" style in Haydn's "Sturm Und Drang Symphony".This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter first throws out the question of "what is mannerist style" and discusses its basic meaning,background,representative works and specific forms of expression.The explosion of emotion and enthusiasm in "mannerist" works shows the pursuit of artistic effects such as surprise,individuality,drama,improvisation and irregularity,which plays a key role in the formation of Haydn's late musical style and has irreplaceable significance.Chapter two raises the question of "What is the Sturm Und Drang period".The definition,characteristics and significance of Haydn's "Sturm Und Drang Symphony" to the composer's career have been discussed by many scholars.The term comes from the literary movement known as Sturm und Drang,which happened around the same time as the musical Sturm und Drang.Therefore,this chapter is divided into two parts to explore the research category,expression form and formation reasons involved in Haydn's "Sturm Und Drang Symphony".The third and fourth chapters analyze the "mannerist style" from the perspective of music analysis.In this paper,"from point to surface",from the discussion of the elements of "mannerist style" to the specific work Symphony No.45,trying to absorb the whole picture of "mannerist style" under the linkage of each movement.The fifth chapter is based on the above summary and thinking.In this paper,the meaning,research scope and style characteristics of Haydn's "Sturm Und Drang Symphony" and "mannerist" are explained again,which leads to thinking about the spiritual connotation and historical significance of "mannerist" style in Haydn's "Sturm Und Drang Symphony".
