Under the current background of the new curriculum reform,which aims to develop students' core literacy and highlight the cultivation of their thinking quality,it has become a realistic demand to cultivate students' thinking quality and improve their comprehensive language ability in English classroom teaching.As an important means of classroom teaching,questioning is an important way to cultivate students' thinking quality.Based on the cultivation of students' thinking quality,this study analyzes the current situation of classroom questioning by front-line primary School English teachers through classroom observation method,and explores the existing problems and causes combined with interview results and relevant data collection.According to the survey result,it comes up with the targeted strategies.The paper is divided into four parts:The first part illustrates the literature review and defines the core concepts to clarify the connotation of thinking quality.This part summarizes the connotation of thinking quality and English subject thinking quality through literature review of the research status of thinking quality.Combined with the research direction,the theoretical basis is determined as Bloom's cognitive goal Hierarchy theory,Lin Chongde's focused thinking structure intelligence theory and the zone of proximal development theory,providing theoretical guidance for the paper.The second part is to determine the research design and the observation dimension to conduct data analysis on the front-line teachers' questions in primary School English class.Observing dimensions of previous classroom questioning and thinking quality,the study divides the four dimensions into teacher questions type and quantity analysis,questioning strategies,waiting time,feedback to analyze the primary English teachers questions in Tianjin.The third part explores the existing problems and causes of classroom questioning by primary School English teachers.Based on the cultivation of thinking quality,the research shows that the primary school English classroom questioning mainly has the following problems: First,the thinking level of classroom questioning is low,and there are few higher-order thinking levels questions.Second,it is difficult to inspire students' thinking since the question strategy is too single,.Thirdly,the waiting time for questions is not reasonable so that students have no time to think deeply.Fourth,the teacher feedback is relatively general,teachers and students lack of real interaction.The fourth part proposes the questioning strategies based on thinking quality development in Primary School English Questioning.Based on the characteristics of primary School English teaching and the cultivation of thinking quality,the part puts forward optimization suggestions from the perspectives of pre-class question design strategy,while-class question implementation strategy and after-class reflection strategy,providing valuable references for teachers to implement questioning strategy and develop studengts thinking quality.
