A Study Of Popular Constructions Of Emphasis And Exaggeration In Contemporary Chinese

The research of this paper mainly focuses on the popular constructions of emphasis and exaggeration that appeared in the early 21 st century,and selects four typical popular constructions in Chinese as cases,using Cognitive Linguistics,Formal Logic,Pragmatics,Social Science,Psychology,and Communication are the guiding theories.According to the characteristics of the corpus,we link the linguistic facts and theories,and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on the emphasis and exaggeration-like popular constructions from the three-dimensional perspectives of grammar,semantics and pragmatics.Investigate with exaggerated popular constructions.At the synchronic level,we examine the meaning of stressed and exaggerated popular constructions in specific contexts;at the diachronic level,we examine the evolution and development process of stressed and exaggerated popular constructions.Finally,we attempt to generalize the representational tendency and constructionalization process of popular constructions in case studies of popular constructions.The full text is divided into six chapters.In the introduction,we expound the research status of popular constructions,clarify the difference between popular constructions and popular words,so that we can determine the identity of popular constructions that emphasize and exaggerate.Firstly,in Chapter 1,we sorted out the properties,categories,and characteristics of stressed and exaggerated class constructions.Secondly,from chapters 2 to 5,we have selected four of the following four categories:“X cheng gou”(X??),“Wo ke neng X le(ge)jia Y”(???X?(?)?Y),“Hao A yi NP”(?A?NP),“Ni jin guan X,Y suan wo shu”(???X,Y???)mainly from the structural characteristics and distribution characteristics of popular constructions to sort out,classify and summarize the corpus;then from the perspective of constructions,the overall meaning of constructions,the interaction between constructions and components,and the interaction between components and components are analyzed.Through investigation and analysis,the semantic and pragmatic characteristics of popular constructions are inferred.Thirdly,the evolution trajectory,popular causes and generation mechanism of popular constructions are discussed from the diachronic level.Then,Chapter 6tentatively summarizes the constructional process of contemporary stressed and exaggerated constructions on the basis of the previous studies on the four constructions.Finally,the conclusion part summarizes the main points of this paper,and points out the innovation and deficiency of this paper.In view of the fact that there are many achievements in the case studies of popular constructions in academic circles,but there are still weak links,most of the case studies of popular constructions stay on semantic description,and relatively few involve the generation process of constructions.From the perspective of studying popular constructions,try to describe the evolution trajectory and generation mechanism of popular constructions on the basis of semantic description,provide a new angle for academic research on popular constructions,re-excavate the value of contemporary popular constructions,and try to attract academic circles.A focus on the generation process of popular constructions.
