A Study On Correctness Discrimination Of Primary School Students' Handwritten English Letters Based On Template Matching

This research aims to realize the automatic judgment of the correctness of the primary school students' handwritten English letters.Try to improve the non-standard tolerance rate for some Fonts and Italic writing while ensuring accuracy of the judgement for correctness of letters written on mobile devices by primary school students.Besides that,this research try to provide services for judging the correctness of writing English words,English sentences and other Latin letters for primary school students in the future.This article reviews and summarizes the understanding and requirements about the correct writing of letters in history.Combined with the early project work,this study constructs a complete set of structural characteristics system for the correctness of letters.This study takes the standard letters and the set of user-written stroke trace points written on mobile devices as the research object.After preprocessing the stroke of standard letters and user's letters,each feature was quantified,such as stroke morphology,stroke length and relative position.Then calculated to obtain the matching matrix of characteristics and give the judgement for correctness of letters.This research uses Java language to realize the correctness judgment function.A total of 3120 writing samples were collected in the third and fifth grades of a primary school in N city,including 1560 in the third grade and 1560 in the fifth grade.In order to increase the compatibility of the program's functions and make it more than capable of judging the writing of the English alphabet of primary school students,2080 copies of other staff's writing and handwriting were collected,totaling 5200 writing samples.Using these samples to test the correctness judgment program,it was found that the program has a correct judgment rate of more than 90% for primary school students' handwritten English letters,and a 100% correctness rate for judgments of English letters written by persons other than primary school students.The experimental results show that the correctness judging scheme can judge the correctness of English letters under the premise of free writing more stably and correctly.
