A Study Of The Cinematographic Work Of Jeff Wall

Jeff Wall is one of the most representative and influential artists in contemporary photography.His large-scale light box works show social discussions from an international perspective.In this thesis,in the translation and collation of Jeff Wall's many English articles,interviews and works,it explores Wall's creative ideas and analyzes the interpretation of his works.This article first interprets what is film-style photography by sorting out a large amount of relevant materials,consulting and translating related English articles and interviews.Then,a detailed introduction to Jeff Wall's creative background and context of the times.Starting from several of Wall's film-style photographic works,it analyzes from multiple angles,including the transparency of photography,the relationship between photography and painting,and tries to analyze and interpret the signs and hidden texts in Wall's works.phenomenon.Finally,I go deep into Wall's creative thinking and background to analyze Wall's work from the perspectives of contemporary art and refusal to directly quote,explore the unity behind the work,and try to draw some “conclusions”.The innovation of this thesis lies in the interpretation of image elements and symbolic analysis of Jeff Wall's work,which is helpful to understand the obscure contemporary art works,and has a guiding role in photography creation and theoretical research,prompting further research.Possible directions become a new starting point for others' research.
