Conservatism has a long history in the history of human thought, and its origin can be traced back to ancient Greece, and Burke is known as the "father of conservatism",and its thought has become an important basis for the study of conservatism.Burke inherited Aristotle's view of society, emphasizing the social self, and proposed the realistic social contract idea that is clearly different from others.Burke's reflection on the French revolution reflects a tendency of conservative thought with distinctive characteristics. He opposes based on pure reason, paying attention to tradition and experience, criticizing the complete overthrow of the old society and the old system by violent revolution, and advocating to promote the development and progress of society with gradual improvement. The view of freedom is an important part of Burke's conservative thought. He combines "freedom" with "conservative" and puts forward the limitation of freedom, emphasizing the restriction of tradition, social order, law and religion on freedom. This paper introduces the ideological source and theoretical basis of the conservative view of freedom, establishes the characteristics of the view of freedom,so as to achieve the purpose of deeply understanding the overall thought of Burke, and further deepen the understanding of the conservative school of thought.
