A Report On The Practice Of Simultaneous Interpretation In English And Chinese At The Kobe Memorial Service

This practice report is based on the English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation practice of Kobe Bryant memorial service in 2020.The author carried out interpretation practice for Kobe Bryant memorial service,aiming to improve the quality of NBA sports news translation,present a better translation version for the audience,and provide reference for subsequent research.In the report,the author summarizes the problems in the process of interpretation,and put forward the feasible solutions.There are three categories of problems in the process of practice including misinterpretation of specific words,long and difficult sentences and the humorous effect.To deal with these problems,corresponding strategies such as fuzzy translation,free translation and so on are proposed in the report.The proper use of interpreting strategies will directly affect the effect and speed of interpretation.The purpose of this practice report is to discuss suitable interpretation strategies so as to help other interpreters to deal with similar problems and to improve the quality of interpretation.
