The Font Design Inspired By Guangxi Yongfu Baishou Map

The ancients believed that there were five types of blessing: longevity,wealth,health,good deeds and death.Longevity is the first of the five blessings and the primary goal of people's pursuit of happiness.With the development of folk-custom activities,shou character,as a traditional auspicious character,gradually changes its meaning from the original character to the carrier of auspicious images.From ancient times to the present,people continue to add rich meaning and auspicious connotation to the word longevity,and decorate this unique character with a variety of forms.The Baishou map is equivalent to the encyclopedia of Shou character,and it also enriches the font modeling of Shou character in the process of continuous development.There are many versions of the longevity chart,and the research focus of this paper is the earliest version of the longevity chart,Guangxi Yongfu longevity chart.This paper classifies the Shou character in the Baishou figure of Yongfu in Guangxi according to the attributes of the characters,sorts out the features and design methods of the Xiaoshou character,and then extracts the inspiration source and decoration characteristics of the Shou character.With the development of history,people's demand for decoration of the life of figure has changed,so guangxi for the adornment of the life of small and medium-sized longevity figure characters characteristics also have a degree of change,from originally on different life of written word,to become unified visual style pattern attached to different vessels,the life of figure also formed his unique art font layout.The ancients in guangxi for the life of figure in the word brings to the contemporary typography enlightenment wisdom,not only little life of keyword rich creative provides diversification path for type design,can provide idea and reference for the contemporary design,the life of word typesetting extremely rich visual tension,in view of the decorative font layout technique also has merit.Through the experiment of arranging the characters of Yongfu Baishou Chart in Guangxi,the development possibility of Baishou Chart is explored in the contemporary context.
