Research On The Artistic Features And Restoration Of Ancestral Statues In The Qing Dynasty

The ancestor image of sacrificial nature belongs to a branch of traditional Chinese figure painting.There are many forms of portraits for the deceased,including the tomb owner’s portrait in the tomb murals,a large number of existing ysilk paper ancestral portraits,ancestral portraits in the family genealogy,porcelain painting,brush painting and so on.Compared with the traditional portraits with various styles and lively styles,these ancestor portraits in a broad sense have bright colors,single forms and high purity colors.This is far from the mainstream aesthetic of Chinese painting.But these non mainstream portraits hide some unique historical aesthetic taste under their stylized appearance,which is worthy of further study.In modern times,influenced by the spread of Western learning,painters absorbed some Western painting techniques and further improved the realistic level and appreciation of their ancestors.The portraits are usually hung in the ancestral hall for sacrifice to the children of the clan at a special time.The production of ancestral portraits was popular in Ming and Qing Dynasties,but today,many portraits are damaged due to the lapse of years or repeated war disasters,and the appearance of the portraits is poor,so it is urgent to repair and protect them.
