A Cultural Turning Study Of The Internet Wishing Phenomenon

In recent years,there has been an act of forwarding symbols with lucky meaning on the Internet in order to achieve a wish.The pursuit of the "koi" symbol is one of the most representative examples.This kind of phenomenon can be called online prayer..Internet prayer belongs to a kind of Internet popular culture,but it is essentially a product of the integration and innovation of traditional culture and Internet culture.It has both the continuation of tradition and its own innovation,but the spiritual core is still traditional folk culture.The research on the phenomenon of online prayers is carried out from four aspects:motives,symbols,rituals,and meanings.By comparing with traditional prayers and analyzing the transformation of this cultural phenomenon,it is found that the motivation of online prayers lies on the basis of pure wishing.There are more expressive functions on the above,the meaning of symbols and production methods have changed from profound meaning to simple and straightforward,and rituals have shattered past regulations and processes,abandoned seriousness and dignity,and turned to loose and casual daily games;for a long time,Prayers are all supporting and enriching people's spiritual world,and now its close-to-the-time changes and network media blend and collide,and provide practical reference and value for the current social cultural communication and network ecological construction.As an emerging thing,in the current research on the phenomenon of online prayer,scholars mostly use communication,semiotics,sociology and subculture to analyze and research related theories.Generally,scholars are negatively criticizing this phenomenon.He believes that the popularity of online prayers will encourage the mentality of young people to get something for nothing,which is not conducive to the good functioning of society.Apart from worrying,I actually ignored the function of online prayers in public crisis events such as earthquakes,epidemics,disasters,and accidents: focusing on public opinion and entrusting emotions.Including the Internet prayers in public emergencies in the research scope will help to understand the meaning and impact of such Internet cultural phenomena more comprehensively.
