With the diversification of the curriculum,English picture books are gradually appearing in elementary school classrooms.Many professionals,scholars and front-line teachers are beginning to focus on the educational value of English picture books,focusing on how to cultivate students' thinking quality through picture book teaching.Problem design in picture book teaching is an important aspect that affects its teaching effect.In order to further enhance the educational value of picture book education and improve the effectiveness of problem design,this study focuses on how to utilize classroom problem design in English picture book education to improve the quality of students' thinking.Through literature review,centering on relevant theoretical foundations.Under the guidance of Bloom 's cognitive goal level theory,English learning action perspective,and constructivist theory,this research focus on the problem design in the teaching of English picture books in primary schools.Firstly,based on the literature research method,summarize the research status of the thinking quality and picture book teaching problem design and interpret the special sense of thinking quality,English picture book and problem design.Secondly,the questionnaire method and the classroom observation method are used to study the current situation of the problem situation in English picture books teaching in elementary schools.The questionnaire survey takes the front-line primary school English teachers in Tianjin as the subjects.Surveys are carried out in four dimensions: the recognition of thinking quality,teachers' recognition of picture book teaching to cultivate students' thinking quality,the current implementation of thinking quality development in English teaching,and the implementation of problem design based on developing students' thinking quality in picture book teaching,supplemented by observations in 18 lessons of English picture book teaching.Analyzing the frequency of all kinds of thinking level problems in each lesson,and use this as a basis to discuss the current situation of problem design.In addition,based on the in-depth analysis of the problem,the case study method is used to make a specific analysis of the problem design in the excellent lesson.Finally,based on the results of the status quo investigation and case analysis,related to the problems to raise the improvement strategies,which provide valuable references for teachers to carry out problem design in English picture book teaching.
