A Study On The Construction Of Characters With Mental Disorders In Movies

Freud's psychoanalysis and its rich achievements are of great theoretical value for understanding and interpreting the characters in the film.The mental disorder characters studied in this topic mainly refer to those who appear in the movies.Through the artistic creation in the film,the group with mental disorders has more typical characteristics of character construction,which is helpful for modern people to reflect and examine themselves through film and television works.Therefore,the study of the characters with mental disorders in movies has its important research value.This paper is divided into four parts.Starting from the theory of psychoanalysis,this paper chooses the characters of mental disorders as the starting point,and the most important thing is to study the construction of characters of mental disorders in movies.The first part of this paper mainly discusses the general history of psychoanalysis,from Freud to La-can,the emergence of the second film semiotics.The first part also focuses on how to define the concept of "mental disorder",and makes a distinction between several typical types of mental disorder characters in the film,which are divided into three small types,and explains the influence of the concept of "death instinct" on the construction of characterful second part will discuss the narrative strategies of the construction of the characters with mental disorders.From the two levels of narrative mechanism and narrative strategy,this paper makes a detailed analysis of the construction of the characters' secret inner world and the narrative method of combining "dream" and reality.From this,we can find out that the film constructs complete characters of mental disorders through various narrative mechanisms.The third part will discuss the significance of metaphorical image presentation for the construction of characters.In this paper,the "mental disorder" type of characters refers to the film,so all the discussion is around the characters in the film.The third part focuses on the three metaphorical ways of image presentation: character modeling,color and mirror.Starting from the core elements of several characters,it clarifies the influence on the characterization.The fourth part will discuss the value of the screen image of the mental disorders.It mainly focuses on the "narcissistic attribute" of the personality of the characters with mental disorders,the "peeping" of the audience,and the cold thinking of the occurrence and development of such characters for the social reality.Through the discussion of these three aspects,I hope to be beneficial to the spiritual world of modern people and to be able to think about themselves.
