Research On The Practice Of Writing Symbols In Contemporary Art Creation In The Context Of Ink And Wash

At the beginning of the reform and opening up in the 1980 s,western culture and art gradually began to enter China,bringing more cultural and artistic exchanges and cultural ideological collisions between China and the western countries.It made a positive influence on Chinese artists as they actively grew in-depth thinking regarding the form,language,and contemporariness of images.With Bing Xue,Wenda Gu,and many other Chinese artists as pioneers,artists started to experiment,explore,and think about the expressions of modern Chinese art.The unique cultural charms and advantages of Chinese characters,calligraphy,and Chinese wash painting were realized via dynamic combination with national characteristics,the national language,national symbols,and contemporary western art.Attempts of incorporating Chinese characters and wash painting elements into artistic creation were made to enhance the visual and cultural effects of the picture.As a traditional Chinese painting form,ink and wash painting have also begun to be integrated into the contemporary art creations of many artists in a new form.A large number of Chinese and foreign artists have initiated research on this topic.The things that are not easily perceptible in the traditional form were exhibited into diversified micro worlds through the abstract recreated transformation.It is both the premise and purpose of creation that artists express their perceptions and thoughts about the world in a free way.This paper aims to conduct research and analysis from the perspective of the artists' works and creative ideas to probe the creative practice of integrating Chinese characters in contemporary art in the context of ink and wash painting,and to explore more feasibility and expressiveness of Chinese text symbols and ink wash elements in the future development of Chinese art.This is also a significant phase for the beginning and development of Chinese modern and contemporary art,as well as a good opportunity for the author to research and learn.
