Feminist Art From The Perspective Of Female Body Consumption

Today’s society is already in the age of consumption,and all kinds of consumer needs are emerging,and everything is given a consumable meaning,and the body has become the "most beautiful consumer product",among which the female body is extremely attractive.In the activity of female body consumption,women’s body and mind are subject to male gaze and discipline,and they subconsciously identify with male aesthetic standards,actively processing themselves as consumer goods in the eyes of men,falling into the dilemma of loss of self-subjectivity and self-regulation,and further becoming the object of male discipline and control.Feminist art was born along with the feminist movement and feminist theory,and from the very beginning it was a critique of the patriarchal society,opposed to male gaze and discipline,and was originally the same as the female body consumption with the purpose of liberating the female body.Therefore,in this context,this paper starts from the phenomenon of female body consumption,combines the relationship between female body consumption and feminism and feminist art,studies Chinese feminist art,analyzes the reasons for its gradual silence,and explores its problems and dilemmas.By summarizing and considering the current situation of Chinese feminist art,we summarize the reasons for the current situation and the solutions to the dilemma,and express our outlook on its future development,hoping that the power of feminist art creation will awaken women’s self-subjective consciousness,fight for the right to speak,and make a bold voice for women,so as to effectively drive feminist art to survive and develop better in China.
