Space Art: Dreams, Traces And Prospects

With the development of aerospace science and technology and aerospace industry,more and more artists begin to create in this field of space art.However,strictly speaking,there is no consensus on the concept of space art and the category it refers to.The tradition and history of space art is also controversial.Therefore,the overall combing of the concept,category and development of space art is conducive to the prospect and exploration of the possible practice of space art in the future.Firstly,this paper traces the evolution of space art’s usage in concept,and investigates the etymology and usage norms of terms,to determine the formulation and usage of space art and its related concepts.Then from the perspective of science and technology as the main body,this paper distinguishes astronomical art and astronautical art in space art,and sorts out the relationship and history between different types of space art contained in them,and summarizes the formation reasons,development context,main characteristics of each type of space art and its influence on other types of space art.From the concept definition,to the type analysis,and then to the historical arrangement,it is to try to solve the three problems existing in the space art theory,namely,unclear concept,incomplete context,unclear direction.With the clarification of these problems,further combining with the current status of space art development and art ecology,we can roughly glimpse the possible direction of space art practice in the new era.
