Taking Analysis and design of learning in Japanese teaching(excerpts)as an example, the research discusses the translation process of educational academic text from the adaptation theory through text analysis and corpus. This research comprises five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the general situation of the research, including the background and purpose of the selected topic, and the subjects as well as the significance of the research. The second chapter presents previous studies and research methods of this project.Chapter three explains details of the translation task.Chapter four analyzes the case through linguistic context adaptation and communicative context adaptation. The last chapter is the conclusion of the research. It is found that the entire translation process of academic texts dynamic and conscious in adaptation,in which the level of adaptation conscious determines the quality of translations. The linguistic adaptation in the translation of educational academic texts is shown in the following aspects: the translation of words and phrases is unified;the source text shall be translated with its literal meanings but also with its connotative information as much as possible, such as those in tenses;and the translation adapts to the style of the target language to make the translation clear and smooth. In contextual adaptation,it is shown in paying attention to the exclusion of oral expression, applying the system of academic discourse in the process of translation, taking every sentence in the source text as a part of a certain communication to adapt to the psychological world of the two parties;obtaining the indirect equivalence of the source language and the target language in time and space, and constructing the same scene with that of the source text as much as possible.
