Internet Of Things Series Speech Interpretation Practice Report

With the development of science and technology,the computer has become an indispensable part of people’s life.The Internet of Things,as an important part of the new generation of information technology,has brought great changes to the development of all walks of life and human life style.This is a report on a simulated English to Chinese consecutive interpretation,which is based on 5th World Internet of Things Solutions Conference in 2019.There are four chapters in this report,which includes the description of the translation task,the process of the translation task,the analysis of interpreting cases,and the summary of translation practice.The third chapter is the key part of this report,which describes the problems in the interpreting task and the corresponding strategies.The writer’s main problems in this interpreting task are unfamiliar technical terms,vague reference and redundant expressions.In order to solve the problems,the writer has put forward solutions of fuzzy strategy,compensation strategy,explanation strategy and the omission method in translation.Through this simulated consecutive interpreting,the writer saw her shortcomings,and she hoped to make full preparations for the interpretation tasks related to the topic of the Internet of Things in the future.
