This is a practice Chinese-English consecutive interpretation of the documentary “E-sports in China”.In this report, the author specifically analyzes the problems in this practice and the causes of problem, and proposes corresponding solutions. The author finds that the problems encountered in practice mainly fall into three aspects: Chinese idiom translation, information redundancy processing and run-on sentence translation.Through the corresponding specific case analysis, the author explores the problems and analyzes how to properly translate Chinese idioms, how to deal with redundant information and how to translate run-on sentences into English. As for the Chinese idiom translation, the author puts forward the method of free translation and literal translation. As for the problem of information redundancy, the author proposes the method of omission and semantic compression. And the author puts forward some suggestions on how to translate Chinese run-on sentences into English better,i.e.making the semantic relations between clauses obvious and recombining run-on sentences. This report provides some valuable experience and methods for the author's interpretation practice in the future,so as to further improve the level of interpretation.
