| Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra was founded on October 5,1985.It was one of the most influential light music ensembles in Harbin in the 1980 s,and it was also the orchestra with the best economic benefits in Harbin at that time.The orchestra was officially established on October 5,1985.It was first performed in Shang Yan in the summer of 1986.It quietly dissolved after the contract expired on April 1,1989.It has experienced a short but prosperous four years.The rise and fall of the orchestra is closely related to the country’s social development,political policies,economic conditions and cultural atmosphere.It is an epitome of social change and development under China’s special historical background and a vivid case of the development of music groups under the influence of reform and opening up.Since its establishment,Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra has absorbed many professional music talents from various music groups in Harbin,such as Chen Zhigang,Guo Yingquan,Yao Xinliang,Sun Dan and others,who are leaders in their respective fields.In the summer of 1986,the performance group composed of such a group of excellent talents began to perform "walking through holes" due to the needs of the entertainment performance market at that time and also to earn high profits for themselves.Its performances have spread all over the country,from Harbin’s Red Sun Exhibition Hall to Shanghai’s Meiqi Grand Theater.Invited guests from the older generation of singer Li Guangxi to the new generation of singer Tian Zhen have cooperated.The repertoire of performances covers from light music,pop songs to classic repertoire of model operas,with a variety of styles.Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra is not the first music group to perform in Harbin,but it is the mostsuccessful and influential.In the era of reform and opening up,the planned economic system began to transform into a market economy.The emergence of Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra complied with the historical trend.The establishment of its orchestra contract system was closely combined with the market.The success of Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra enriches the spiritual and civilized life of the masses,cultivates many artistic talents,leads the development of Shang Yan cause in Harbin area,and provides a reference model for other units to build their own music groups.This article takes the rise and fall of Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra from October 5,1985 to April 1,1989 as the research object.Through literature analysis,interviews and other research methods,it collects and sorts out the existing first-hand literature materials of Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra,such as oral historical materials,photos,meeting documents and so on.Through interviews with the main members of the orchestra,it sorts out the historical context of the development of the orchestra,so as to enrich the history of the orchestra in Harbin area,play a role in supplementing the history of the orchestra in Harbin area,and provide historical basis and research materials for music Harbin studies.Through the system research and analysis of Harbin Arctic Ocean Orchestra,this paper summarizes the reasons for the success of the orchestra in the wave of reform and opening up,thus providing experience and inspiration for the future development of domestic literary and art groups. |
