Poetry and ode are the main literary genre in the Han Dynasty. As one of the important alternatives to poetry and ode, plant writing records the vast secular life and rich spiritual world of the Han people. The previous studies mostly focused on the investigation of individual plants or some plants in poetry and ode. However, they failed to comprehensively explore the characteristics, significance and impact on later generations of plant writing in poetry and ode in the Han Dynasty. Therefore This article focuses on the writing of plants in poetry and ode in the Han Dynasty. The main contents includes the following five parts:The introduction mainly explains the reasons for choosing the topic of "A Study of Plant Writing in Poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty" and its research significance, research status, research content and research methods, etc. The first chapter analyzes the characteristics and causes of plant writing in poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty.First of all.in order to clearly show the type, quantity, and frequency of plants in the poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty, the author made statistics on the plants that appeared in the poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty. On this basis,it is concluded that the plant writing in the poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty includes"foreign objects with the same name","various types","modelization","inheriting the legacy of plant writing in pre-Qin poetry and carols","advocating giant beauty","to show virtue "and other six characteristics.Secondly, combined with the social background of the Han Dynasty, the author specifically discusses the reasons for the formation of plant writing in Han poetry and ode from three aspects:"the actual geographical conditions of the Han Dynasty","input of extraterrestrial plants in the Han Dynasty" and "the Chinese admired the beauty of the magnificent and pursued broad cultural ideas".The second chapter explores the symbolic meaning of plant writing in poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty. The plant writing in the poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty is rich in content and profound in meaning, which not only reflects the real situation of Han people, but also reflects the spiritual style of Han people. The first is the "metaphor of the home country".In the writing of plants in Han poetry and ode,the richness and small amount of plants symbolized the rise and fall of the country and the wealth of the family. There are also some plants that are given the meaning of "Xiangrui" because of their special qualities. The second is the "metaphor of life".In the poetry works of the Han Dynasty,we can see that the Han people expressed their desire for longevity and prosperity by eating ganoderma, drinking cinnamon wine, painting lotus in the palace, and planting cedar trees in the cemetery. The third is "the metaphor of personality".In the plant writing of poetry and ode in the Han Dynasty, poets use orchids to symbolize the gentleness of gentleman’s personality. In contrast.weeds, weak grasses, and dead trees were used to symbolize villains. In addition, there are plants such as tortoiseshell, lavender, quinoa, coriander, weed, bonsai and thatch, which symbolize the hermit. It can be seen that the plant writing in the poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty has"personified" and "pedigree" the natural attributes of plants. In other words, the plants has completed the transition from a simple "object" to a rich "image".So that, plant writing in the poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty has became an important system of literary writing. The third chapter analyzes the influence of plant words in Han poetry and ode on later literature. After analysis,we found that the plant writing method in Han poetry had matured and had a profound impact on the plant writing in poetry and ode in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties. This is particularly significant in the four aspects of content, symbolism, writing mode, and pragmatic expression, which makes the writing methods of poetry and plants more and more perfect. The conclusion part is a general description of the main content and research results of this article. We believe that the plant writing in poetry and ode of the Han Dynasty not only possesses many typical characteristics, but also has complex symbolic meanings,so it has an important influence on the plant writing in later literature.
