| Pan Yuliang was an important artist in Chinese art.Born in Yangzhou,Jiangsu province in 1895,he went to Europe in 1921 to study fine arts in France and Italy.He returned to China in 1928 and taught oil painting at his Alma Mater,Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and National Central University.In 1937,he went to France for the second time,during which he created a large number of classic works.This paper analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of Pan Yuliang’s oil painting style after her second visit to France,makes clear her contribution to the art of Chinese oil painting,and finally determines Pan Yuliang’s position in the history of Chinese modern and contemporary art.This paper is divided into four parts to explore the style of Pan Yuliang’s oil paintings during his second visit to France.The first part analyzes the background of Pan Yuliang’s second visit to France,and sums up as follows:First,Pan Yuliang’s second visit to France was motivated by three reasons:first,only a very small circle in the country recognized her,and she was forced to go to France in order to escape the secular eyes;Second,pan Yuliang had adapted to a liberal life abroad,in which she could immerse herself in art without having to think about the world,and France was very receptive to this wise,intelligent,hard working oriental artist,pan Yuliang had long studied oil painting in Europe,and the limited influence of the domestic atmosphere on her paintings kept her paintings pure,and in the continuous study of Western oil painting,to maintain the purity.The second part analyzes the subject classification of his oil paintings.Mainly divided into self-portrait theme,female body theme,landscape theme and still life theme.The third part focuses on Pan Yuliang’s second visit to France during the process of oil painting fusion evolution,detailed analysis of representative works of artistic style characteristics.The fourth part focuses on the historical value and influence of Pan Yuliang’s oil paintings.The historical value is mainly around two aspects:First,the inspiration of the spirit of exploration to the artistic innovation;Second,the inevitability of the fusion of Chinese and western painting ideas and techniques.On the other hand:For its contemporary significance of painting,one for the educational significance(Pan Yuliang first returned to France after teaching in Shanghai Art College for 10 years),the other is the current stage of oil painting some inspiration.Based on the complicated historical background both at home and abroad when Pan Yuliang went to France for the second time,this paper analyzes in detail the change of Pan Yuliang’s artistic style,and expounds that Pan Yuliang learned and borrowed from Western art during his initial exploration of art,later into the traditional Chinese art elements and painting techniques,and ultimately form the process of fusion of Chinese and Western art style.This article,based on the study of Pan Yuliang’s dynastic character,explores the stylistic features of Pan Yuliang’s oil painting in this period,which can be used for both academic and creative reference.. |
