The color of western modern art is varied,among which the fauvism was a more avantgarde school at that time.And Mattis is the leading figure,throughout the fauvism.As one of the most creative artists of his time,Mattis pioneered western modern art with his unique perspective.The decorative and expressive nature of Mattis' s paintings is of great interest to me as I delve deeper into them.So this article is mainly divided into four chapters,the first chapter is the analysis of the background and significance of the topic.The second chapter analyzes the characteristics of Mattis' s paintings from the perspectives of line,color and composition.The third chapter explores the similarities between Mattis' s paintings and ancient Chinese paintings,comparing the differences between Western traditional oil paintings.The Fourth Chapter describes the influence of Mattis' s paintings on my own creation,combines my own creative process,and discusses my subjective perception of things in the process of painting.
