"Author-director" Lee Chang-dong is regarded as the backbone of the new film movement in South Korea,and influences greatly on the Korean film industry and the world film landscape.Lee Chang-dong adheres to the artistic concept of realism,relentlessly searches for the cause of the ultimate distress of modern people.The characters in his films are a reflection of real life,silently gazing at the source of the pain of dilemma.The characters with the sense of alienation live distinctively in Lee Chang-dong s films.This article consists of four chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces Lee Chang-dong's film experience and his representative works,defining the concept of "alienator",while building a character community of "alienator".Through analyzing the embodiment of the director's personal consciousness and its social context in the characterization of film works,the second chapter analyzes the reasons for the formation of the "alienator".The third chapter analyzes specifically the characters of the "alienator" in the six films of Lee Chang-dong based on the different reasons for the "sense of alienation",and accurately portrays the characters in Lee Chang-dong 's films.The fourth chapter summarizes the aesthetic value of the characters in Lee Chang-dong's movies and concludes the aesthetic value of Lee Chang-dong 's "truth,goodness and beauty".
