George Orwell is an important novelist and essayist in the twentieth century.Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-four is generally regarded as a political fable against totalitarianism, and its repetitive form and the aesthetic significance that it embodies are worth further exploration.Based on Miller's theory of repetition,Nineteen Eighty-four can be divided into stylistic repetition and narrative repetition.Stylistic repetition mainly includes vocabulary repetition and sentence repetition.Vocabulary repetition reflects the dark social environment of totalitarian society from multiple aspects;Sentence repetition reflect the totalitarian world's control of people's mind. The stylistic repetition reveals that the totalitarian rule has oppressed people from physical harm to spiritual murder. The form of repetition in the narratology is mainly about the repetition of the plot. The repetition of death plots reflects the dilemma of people's resistance to totalitarianism;the repetition of misogyny shows people's emotional dilemma;the repetition of tampering with historical events reflects the dilemma of people's identity. The dilemma of people's survival under totalitarian rule is revealed through the repetition of these three plots. In addition, the repeated use of rhetoric and diary styles enriches the aesthetic characteristics of dystopian literature, reflecting the beauty of absurdity and the beauty of truth. On the one hand, the research on the repetitive form fills the gap in the research on the repetitive form of Nineteen Eighty-four,on the other hand,it also enriches the research on the theme and aesthetics of Nineteen Eighty-four.Therefore,the research on the repetitive form provides a new way of understanding the form and connotation of the novel, and broadens the research perspective of Orwel's novel.
