Polyester/cotton blended fabric has many advantages such as good dimensional stability, not easy to wrinkle, easy to wash and quick-drying,and is widely used in the field of textile and clothing.Due to the huge difference in physical and chemical properties between polyester fiber and cotton fiber, the coloring properties of the two fibers are completely different, which brings difficulties to the application of reactive dye inkjet printing on polyester/cotton blended fabrics. In this paper, cationic surfactants are used as catalysts to perform alkaline hydrolysis treatment on fabrics, and sodium alginate treatment is performed on the fabrics after alkali treatment to improve the surface properties of the fibers and enhance the inkjet printing effect of the fabrics.Characterize the printing effect by testing the inkjet printing color data, line width, color fastness and fixation rate on the fabric, and use the static contact angle measuring instrument, scanning electron microscope, solid surface Zeta potential meter and other testing methods to measure the physical and chemical surface of the fabric The properties were characterized and analyzed, and the surface treatment process and mechanism of action were preliminary explored. The results of this study are mainly summarized in the following aspects:(1)Use octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(OTAC),cetyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride(HDBAC)and dodecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(DTAC)as fabric alkaline hydrolysis catalyst. After treatment, the maximum K/S of magenta ink droplets on the fabric were 9.2,10.0,and 12.2.HDBAC can effectively improve the spreading morphology of ink droplets and reduce the spreading area of ink droplets by51%.SA treatment made the spreading edge of the ink droplets on the fabric clearer, and the spreading shape gradually changes from an ellipse to an approximate circle. The maximum K/S of the magenta ink drop and the cyan ink drop were 10.06 and 11.71,respectively.(2)When the HDBAC concentration was 5% and the steaming time was 10 minutes, the alkali-treated fabric can obtain a better printing effect. At this time, the K/S values of CMYK four colors were 10.5,4.2,3.7,and 8.2,respectively.Compared with the untreated fabric, the contact angle of alkali-treated fabric decreased from 130° to0°,and the surface zeta potential changed from-19.67 m V to 33.54 m V.(3)Alkali-SA composite surface treatment further improves the color performance and image clarity of fabric inkjet printing. The better process for alkali-SA surface treatment is 2% HDBAC,2.5% Na OH,102℃ steaming for 15 min,2%SA,8% urea, rolling rate 70%,102℃ steaming and fixing for 10 min.The CMYK four-color K/S of the treated fabric were 12.1,5.4,4.5,9.8 respectively.Compared with the alkali-treated fabric, the increase was 15.18%,28.88%,19.25%,and 20.20% respectively.Compared with the SA treated fabric, the increase was 20.55%,14.65%,24.93%,10.59%,respectively.The line definition was 3.8% higher than that of alkali-treated fabric and25% higher than that of SA-treated fabric. The color performance and clarity of inkjet printing patterns have been significantly improved. After alkali-SA surface treatment of polyester/cotton blended fabrics, the effect of fabric inkjet printing is significantly improved, with bright colors and clear images, which provides a new idea for the pretreatment of polyester/cotton blended fabrics for inkjet printing.
