Material Spirit - Exploration Of The Expressive Power Of Glass Under Thermal Fusion Technology

The use of materials in the current works of art is more and more concerned by artists,which has changed from the initial as the carrier of the picture to the means of conveying emotions and ideas.The material spirit lies in excavating the material property of the material itself and discovering the aesthetic value of the material itself.Artists use the aesthetic value of materials to convey their spiritual connotation,which makes their works more convincing and appealing.Therefore,understanding the expressiveness of materials and exploring the emotional perception conveyed by materials can make artists better use of materials to express their emotions.This thesis takes the expressive force of glass as the research object,relying on glass hot-melt technology to explore the spirit of glass materials.Mainly experimenting from the shape of glass materials,color,texture,technology and other aspects of the performance to deeply understand the properties of glass materials,which is the basis to deeply study the spirit of the glass materials.This paper first provided a brief overview of the purpose and significance of the topic,domestic and foreign artists' exploration in the field of hot melting and the discussion of material spirit.The second part analyzes the infinite possibilities of current glass hot melting technology and the development and limitations of glass hot melting technology under the progress of scientific and technological concept.The third part is the exploration and experiment of glass expressiveness under the hot melting technology,testing and analyzing from the shape,color and texture of glass,and then exploring the possible new space effect combined with other materials and techniques.The fourth part discusses the material spirit of glass,through the experimental research on the expressiveness of materials in last part,and explores the spirit of glass materials from three aspects of the material properties,cultural properties and spiritual properties of glass materials;the fifth part explains how the material spirit is presented in a work of art from the perspective of several domestic and foreign artists,and puts the conclusions into practice and exploration in their own creation.Build a bridge for the emotional communication between the material spirit and the creator.The characteristics of glass material and the spirit of the artist have a unique spiritual characteristics,and how to integrate the spirit of glass material and the spirit of the creator,should be continually studied and discussed in the future glass artistic creation.
