Petroleum coke is an important raw material for the electrolytic aluminum and carbon industries.As the sulfur content in petroleum coke increases,the impact on the electrolytic aluminum and carbon industries gradually increases.Nowadays,there is insufficient supply of low-sulfur coke and increased production of high-sulfur coke in domestic petroleum coke.The use of high-sulfur coke not only corrodes equipment,increases costs,but also causes certain harm to the environment.Therefore,how to reduce the sulfur content in high-sulfur petroleum coke and collect the sulfur element in flue gas is of great practical significance for the sustainable development of the electrolytic aluminum and carbon industries.This paper uses vacuum and high temperature calcination desulfurization to desulfurize petroleum coke.And select the appropriate reagent to collect the flue gas generated during the calcination process.The physical and chemical properties of petroleum coke before and after calcination were analyzed by SEM,XRD and TGA.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)High temperature calcination and desulfurization of 10 g bulk petroleum coke under normal pressure and vacuum.The experimental results show that when the calcination temperature of petroleum coke is 1500? under normal pressure,the desulfurization rate is 77.55%.When the calcination temperature under vacuum is 1500?,the desulfurization rate of petroleum coke reaches a maximum of 82.45%.t shows that vacuum can strengthen the desulfurization of petroleum coke to a certain extent.(2)The calcination experiment of 5g powdered petroleum coke under vacuum conditions.Investigate the effects of different calcination temperature,heating rate,petroleum coke particle size and holding time on the desulfurization rate of petroleum coke.The results show that when the calcination temperature is 1300? and the particle size is 0.25 mm,under the heating rate of 10?/min and the holding time of 1.5h.To achieve the best desulfurization effect,the desulfurization rate is 85.23%.(3)During vacuum calcination of petroleum coke.Absorbing a large amount of flue gas generated during the calcination of petroleum coke with benzene.GC-MS analysis of the benzene absorbent can be obtained: Among the 32 compounds detected,most of them are heteroatoms and aromatic compounds.Among them,compounds containing oxygen and nitrogen atoms mainly exist in the form of heterocycles.Aromatic compounds are mainly benzene and benzene derivatives.Thiophene compounds appear less frequently,indicating that heterocyclic compounds are more stable than thiophene compounds.(4)The physical and chemical properties of petroleum coke before and after calcination were analyzed by SEM,XRD and TGA.The results show that the thiophene sulfur and mercaptan organic compounds in the calcined petroleum coke are destroyed to a certain extent.The micro-morphology of petroleum coke after calcination changes greatly,and the graphitization structure is obvious,and the thermal stability is better.
