| Martin Kusch is an important sociologist of knowledge. In Psychologism: A Case Study in the Sociology of Philosophical Knowledge,Kusch proposed the "Sociology of Philosophical Knowledge" theory(SPK).Kusch believes that SPK represents a new way of writing the history of philosophy, one that combines philosophy and sociology.Kusch takes the psychologism and anti-psychologism debate in Germany in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as a classic case of SPK for sociological research and analysis to show us that philosophical facts can be reconstructed by sociology. The thesis is mainly divided into three parts. The first part clarifies the background of the topic, the significance of the research and the present research situation at home and abroad, indicating that the research on SPK theory is still in the initial stage, the choice of SPK theory as the research object has a positive role in promoting our study of the history of philosophy and understanding the relationship between philosophy and sociology; The second part introduces the social background and theoretical sources of SPK Theory, obtains the sociological analysis methods of SPK theory, and applies these methods to the analysis of the debate between psychologism and anti-psychologism,the re-interpretation of the debate between psychologism and anti-psychologism shows that philosophical debates are influenced by social factors in their formation, development and ending stages, and that philosophical facts can be reconstructed by sociology; The third part discusses the value and predicament of SPK theory, which shows that SPK theory is innovative in using sociological methods to study the history of philosophy, but it still has obvious defects in history and philosophy,we need to treat SPK theory dialectically. |
