| Teacher professional identity is a positive psychological perception and behavio ural expression of teachers’ commitment to education,and can have an impact on the stability and motivation of the teaching profession.One of the major reasons for the high demand for 0-3 year old childcare in China and the low supply of existing childc are services is the lack of childcare teachers,and how to attract young practitioners to choose the childcare profession and be willing to stay in it has become an urgent prob lem to be solved.This study chooses to explore the current situation,problems and in fluencing factors of teachers’ professional identity as an entry point,and on this basis considers strategies to enhance the professional identity of childcare teachers,which is important to promote the stability and motivation of childcare teachers.This study mainly used the survey method to distribute questionnaires to 220 chi ldcare teachers in District W,and selected 12 of them for interviews.The instruments used were the adapted "Questionnaire on Professional Identity of Childcare Teachers" and "Questionnaire on Factors Affecting Professional Identity of Childcare Teachers",and the statistical software SPSS 22.0 was used to process the data.The study found that:(1)In general,childcare teachers in District W have a medium to high level of pr ofessional identity,with the dimensions of professional values,professional behaviou ral tendencies,sense of belonging,professional competence and role values in descen ding order.(2)The professional identity of childcare teachers in District W has proble ms such as unclear professional perceptions,weak professional behavioural tendencie s and insufficient professional competence.(3)There are significant differences in the professional identity of childcare teachers in terms of age,teaching experience,natur e of employment,salary level,work experience,and maternity status,as well as being influenced by changes in the external environment.The culture and management of the campus,teachers’ personal educational beliefs,salary and remuneration,and teach er training are also major influencing factors on the professional identity of childcare teachers.To address the current situation of the professional identity of childcare teachers,the author proposes the following strategies: teachers themselves need to establish a correct perception of their profession and find the right professional orientation;impr ove their professional learning autonomy and enhance their inclination towards profes sional behaviour;improve their professional competence;childcare centres need to do a good job of teacher training and adjust the training content in line with the actual si tuation;develop reasonable curriculum programmes for infants and toddlers;attach i mportance to teachers’ personal growth and affirm their dedication;and childcare cent res At the social level,there is a need to increase publicity on childcare and raise soci al awareness;to promote the professional development of teachers through the joint efforts of universities and childcare centres;to improve the salaries and wages of chil dcare teachers;to clarify the professional access of childcare teachers;and to build a good relationship between home and school through active communication.We need to build a good relationship between home and school. |
