In the context of reading for all,reading education for preschool children is gaining increasing attention.In recent years,picture books have become a flourishing reading resource for preschoolers,and the importance attached to them by public libraries,private picture book libraries,early childhood educational institutions and many parents of children has increased year by year,and picture book reading has gradually become the starting point for most preschoolers.By analysing the factors that influence picture book reading in preschool children,we can effectively guide preschool children to read picture books.A study of the existing literature reveals that there is a lack of comprehensive research on the factors influencing preschool children’s picture book reading,focusing on single influencing factors such as public library picture book reading promotion strategies and family influences on children’s picture book reading.This study uses literature research to explore the factors that influence preschool children’s picture book reading.Therefore,this study analyses the current situation of preschool children’s reading at home and abroad through literature research,and investigates preschool children’s choice of picture books through observation,interview and questionnaire methods.The study selected the Dalian Children’s and Youth Library and the Dalian Zhongtu Picture Book Library for observation,through which three influencing factors were derived: interesting picture book content,interactive picture book reading methods and reading aids;the study interviewed the librarians of the picture book reading room of the library and the manager of the picture book service,Hailan,and derived three influencing factors: diverse picture book reading activities,suitable reading environment and professional picture book reading guidance.The questionnaire was distributed online to parents to investigate the current situation of picture book reading for preschool children from their perspective.The six influencing factors were: internal function of picture books,family factors,library picture book reading services,quality of picture book products,authority of picture book products and picture book-related reading promotion activities.The factors involved in the observation method,interview method and questionnaire method were combined to obtain the following factors: quality of picture book resources,picture book reading environment,picture book reading activities,picture book reading professional guidance,and family influence.On this basis,specific development strategies are proposed for preschool parents and libraries,kindergartens,picture book design and publishing services and educational institutions in guiding children to read picture books,carrying out picture book reading activities,improving the quality of picture book resources and creating a good picture book reading environment in order to promote theoretical research and practical development in the field of picture book reading for preschool children. |
