Evaluation On The Competitiveness Of Online Game Industry In Shanghai

With the rapid development of the Internet and information technology,the online game industry has become an important field in the development of China’s electronic entertainment industry,which has played a huge role in promoting China’s economic and social development.Shanghai is the first city in China to regard online game industry as an important part of a wider creative economy.Today,it is still one of the most important places for the development of Chinese games.Its online game industry has become the main pillar of Shanghai’s internet,culture and entertainment industry,and has played a role in promoting its development.According to the data of Shanghai Game Publishing Industry Report 2021-2021,in 2020,the total revenue of online games in Shanghai reached 120.6 billion yuan,including domestic sales revenue of99.92 billion yuan,an increase of 24.6%,and overseas sales revenue of 20.68 billion yuan.However,the rapid development has also brought many problems,such as insufficient technological innovation ability,inadequate policy planning and protection,which may cause the sustainable development of the industry.Firstly,this paper defines the concept of online game industry and industrial competitiveness,introduces the relevant theoretical basis and model framework,analyzes the development status and characteristics of online game industry in Shanghai,and sums up four main factors affecting the development of online game industry in Shanghai,including production factors,market factors,innovation factors and policy factors.Secondly,from three levels: competitive environment,competitive strength and competitive potential,the evaluation index system of Shanghai’s online game industry competitiveness is established.Further,the "factor-principal component analysis" method is used to analyze the relevant index data of seven provinces and cities and Shanghai in recent eight years from spatial dimension and time dimension,and the competitiveness scores of seven provinces and cities are compared from spatial dimension and Shanghai in recent eight years from time dimension.Finally,according to the corresponding competitiveness score,combined with the development situation of online game industry in Shanghai,the relevant countermeasures and suggestions for developing online game industry in Shanghai are put forward from four aspects:enterprise core competitiveness,talent development,industry alliance and government behavior.
