The Impact Of Dark Personality Traits On Cyber Aggression In College Students:the Role Of Internet Morality And Perspective Taking

As the rapid popularization of the internet,it has blended in with people’s daily life.Accompanied by the convenience of the network,it is not uncommon for cyber aggressive phenomenon such as verbal abuse,slander,deception,etc.University students,as one of the significant groups of online users,has caught much attention from researchers on the relationship among their cyber aggressive behavior and personality factors,internet moral levels,and perspective taking.Therefore,this paper carried out a research on the impact of dark personality traits on college students’ cyber aggressive behavior,and discussed the role of internet morality and perspective taking during the process.This study mainly used the questionnaire method,and 691 college students has completed questionnaires including the Online Aggressive Behavior Scale,Dirty Dozen Chinese,the Internet Moral Questionnaire,and Perspective Taking Scale so as to test the relations among the variables.The study found that（1）It’s relatively serious for cyber aggressive behavior among the college students,with a total incidence of 47.8%,and there are significant differences among their genders,grades,and network using habits;（2）The dark personality traits are significant differences among students’grades and sources.Machiavellianism also has significant differences in gender dimension;（3）College students possess benign internet moral level,significant differences in grade and one-child dimensions could be seen;（4）The perspective taking capabilities of College students are significant differences in the dimensions of grade and student origin;（5）College students’ cyber aggressive behavior positively correlates with their dark personality traits,while negatively correlating with their cyber morality and perspective taking;（6）Dark personality traits can significantly predict college students’cyber aggressive behavior positively and negatively predicts internet morality significantly,while internet morality can negatively predict the cyber aggressive behavior of college students and has significantly partial indirect effect between dark personality traits and college students’ cyber aggressive behavior;（7）Perspective taking play a moderating role in the relationship between dark personality traits and college students’ cyber aggressive behavior,and the relationship between internet morality and college students’ cyber aggressive behavior.As the perspective taking level increased,the predictive effects of dark personality traits on college students’ cyber aggressive behavior were obviously weakened.Therefore,it can be said that the perspective taking plays a protective role in the influential mechanism of college students’ cyber aggressive behavior.
