The Influence Of Family Socioeconomic Status On Perceived Mobility Of Offspring ——Based On CGSS Data Analysis

With the development of economy,the disadvantages of disadvantaged groups tend to accumulate and affect the next generation,resulting in the intergenerational transmission of poverty and the continuous weakening of social mobility.Objectively,there are certain signs of class consolidation.Enhancing intergenerational mobility,promoting orderly mobility of social strata and optimizing social strata structure are the requirements of realizing harmonious and sustainable development of society.In the family,it is necessary for the health of the social structure system to ensure that social mobility is within a reasonable range and that children have more opportunities to change their destiny and move upward through struggle.Because of this,this article,based on the analysis of CGSS data,family socioeconomic status factors influence on offspring upward mobility awareness,focus on to explore the mobility perception of respondents own subjective aspects,namely the individual in the mobility of their subjective position sense and the change of social class of the past and future of the cognitive and attitude.Family plays a particularly important role in intergenerational mobility.Most of the educational,social and economic resources received by the offspring come from the family environment.Based on the Matthew Effect,Social mobility theory,intergenerational transmission of education and other theoretical perspectives,this paper adopts the data of Chinese General Social Survey（CGSS）in 2017 and uses stata15.0econometric analysis software.This paper constructs an internal relationship model between family socioeconomic status and the perception of the mobility of the child class,and empirically studies the relationship between the two by using linear regression,binary Logistic regression and other methods to analyze whether family socioeconomic status promotes the upward mobility of the child class.This paper summarizes the path of "family socioeconomic status（parents’ education level）--children’s education level--children’s mobility perception" to promote the upward mobility of children,and verifies it to some extent to clarify the factors that can promote the upward mobility of individuals in the family.The research results mainly include the following four aspects:（1）Family economic status has a significant positive effect on children’s sense of mobility.The higher the family’s economic status is,the higher the probability of upward mobility of the offspring’s social class.The families with superior economic resources pass the resource advantage to the offspring through the pass-through effect,so that the offspring receive better resources.Matthew effect can explain the above research results.（2）Parents’ education level will affect children’s perception of class mobility.The higher the mother’s years of education,the lower the possibility of upward mobility of children,while the higher the father’s years of education,the higher the possibility of upward mobility of children.（3）Parents’ occupation type and occupation level will affect the children’s sense of class mobility.The occupation of "social group,residence/village committee" has a positive influence on the mobility of offspring,and the influence of mothers is greater;The father’s occupational grade has a negative effect on the class mobility of the offspring,while the mother’s occupational grade has no significant effect.（4）The educational level of the offspring has a significant positive influence on their own class mobility perception.The improvement of children’s education level will enhance the upward mobility of individuals.At the same time,on the basis of relevant research,the paper makes some countermeasures for the factors affecting the inter-generational mobility of social strata.First of all,the government should build a fair and sustainable social security system and vigorously promote the balanced and reasonable allocation of educational resources.Secondly,economic and educational resources in the society tend to the lower socioeconomic status of the family.In the family,parents should strive to improve their family’s economic income and social status,but also need to change their traditional ideas.Finally,I will try my best to improve my academic background,promote the upward mobility of social strata,improve my language expression ability and logical thinking ability,and promote the all-round development of my morality,intelligence,body and beauty.
