Theoretical Analysis And Empirical Research On The Impact Of Internet Development On Labor Income

Since China’s access to Internet technology in 1994,after 27 years of rapid development,my country has become one of the world’s super network powers.Nowadays,the Internet has penetrated into all aspects of social and economic life.Not only that,the development of the Internet has also affected the labor forms and methods of many workers in China.The adjustment of worker’s labor form and mode will affect worker’s income situation and income gap level.Due to the differences of Internet development between urban and rural areas and the different needs of different skilled workers in the nature of work,the development of Internet will affect the income gap between urban and rural workers and high and low skilled workers.In this context,it is of great significance to pay attention to the changes in the income gap of workers while developing the Internet rapidly,and to reduce the income gap of workers in China by taking advantage of the development opportunity of the Internet.Based on the theory of digital divide,new economic growth and income distribution,the paper systematically studies the influence mechanism of Internet development on the income gap of workers,and uses the provincial panel data of 30 Chinese provinces from 1998 to 2017,an empirical study was conducted.The results show that:(1)The influence of Internet development on the income gap of laborers shows a nonlinear relationship.Moreover,the impact of Internet development on the income gap and skill premium of urban and rural workers is different,showing an inverted U-shaped and U-shaped relationship respectively.(2)The impact of Internet development on the income gap of laborers is generated by influencing the income levels of different laborers.(3)The impact of Internet development level on the income gap of laborers in China has regional differences in the eastern,central and western regions.Based on the result,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to promote the construction of Internet information,improve the income of workers and narrow the income gap of workers.
