Although China boasts a long history in education, the present schooling system, especially the classroom-based teaching system, has been introduced for merely over a hundred years.Of the current primary school management system, the teacher-in-charge system remains the mainstream.Nonetheless,as society advances and education pattern globalizes, the drawbacks of the "teacher-in-charge system" are increasingly evident.According to myriads of researches,it is found that matters related to headteachers have always been prominent problems, whether in Shanghai or nationwide. In addition, the new curriculum reform has put forward new requirements for the teacher management model.Shifting from traditional exam-oriented education mode to today’s quality-oriented education mode that promotes the well-rounded development of students, schools are confronted with even greater challenges.Shenzhen,as a national demonstration zone for education reform, pools high-calibers all over the world. To expedite national development, meanwhile meeting the educational demands of schools, teachers, and students, the class management model of headteachers is decisive in ensuring that schools develop rapidly and in high-quality.After reviewing the literature,it was found this study what has been achieved in the reform of the teacher-in-charge system in primary and middle schools. There are three typical views:The first one holds that we should completely replace the headteacher’s educational role with other educational roles(counselor, tutor, etc.);The second one proposes that we should maintain the "one-teacher-in-charge system" and deepen the reform of class management; The third one states that we should retain the original headteacher’s educational role, while adding new "headteachers"(subject teachers, students’ parents, students, etc.)to build "a team of headteachers system".This paper, taking the GH elementary school in LH district of Shenzhen as a practical research object, probed into how "a team of headteachers system" contributes to the sound development of the school through the literature method, questionnaire survey, interview survey and other research methods, combined with mathematical statistical analysis of the questionnaire. After the experiment,it summarized the results of practicing a team of headteachers system to manage class, analyzed the reference and limitations of the mode, and put forward feasible suggestions for possible directions of the future research addressing this mode, with a view to provide references for researchers elaborating on educational theory and front-line educators. In light of Makarenko’s collective education theory and the results by analyzing the experimental management mode of Shenzhen elementary school in LH district of Shenzhen,it is found that the management ability of a team of headteachers system can be upgraded through strategies including teachers’ autonomy, schools’ reform and remodeling, and external supports.Among these three strategies, the reform and remodeling of schools is the most significant one, which includes: 1.changing the design method of the class management system and establishing a common vision regarding management;2.changing the management system of a single headteacher and establishing a team of 4 people to help with teaching and management;3.changing the teacher-centered management model and constructing autonomy management mode in primary schools;4.changing management evaluation mode, with headteacher deeply engaged in improving the evaluation standard of students;5.changing management tools and communication platform and employing new technology to bolster the management ability of a team of headteachers system;6.changing schools’ spatial form,so as to crystallize the concept of “environment is the invisible cultural management”.
