Objective: To compare and analyze the eye movement characteristics of college basketball players when viewing pictures of different sports scenes by using eye movement recording method, and to explore the influence of sports scenes on the eye movement characteristics of college basketball players,so as to provide a reference basis for basketball teaching, training, competition and athlete selection. Methods: Forty-four male college students from Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education were selected as experimental subjects.Among them,20 were in the professional group(experts)with a mean age of 19.85±1.04 years and a mean training duration of 5.7±1.13 years;24 were in the amateur group(novices)with a mean age of 20.08±0.65 years and a mean training duration of 2.33±1.20 years.Using the expert-novice paradigm, the eye-movement data and behavioral data of college basketball players when viewing pictures of different sports scenes were recorded using an eye-movement device,multi-factor ANOVA,and the data were statistically analyzed using independent sample t-test,and correlation test.Results:(1)Mean gaze duration. The mean gaze time of college basketball players in the same group was significantly different when viewing pictures of different sports scenes(P < 0.05);the mean gaze time of college basketball players in different groups was significantly different when viewing pictures of the same sports scenes(P <0.05).(2)Average number of gaze. The average number of gaze times of college basketball players in different groups when viewing pictures of the same sports scene was significantly different(P < 0.05).(3)Mean pupil diameter. The mean pupil diameters of college basketball players in different groups were significantly different(P < 0.01)when viewing pictures of the same sports scenes.(4)Mean time to first sight. There was no significant difference in the mean first-vision time of college basketball players in the same group when viewing pictures of different sports scenes(P > 0.05);there was no significant difference in the mean first-vision time of college basketball players in different groups when viewing pictures of the same sports scenes(P > 0.05).(5)Pre-judgmental reaction time. The reaction time of college basketball players in the amateur group was significantly less than the reaction time of complex sports pictures(P < 0.05);there was a significant difference between college basketball players in different groups when they viewed the same sports pictures(P<0.05).(6)Pre-judgment correct rate. There was no difference in the correct rate of prediction when college basketball players of the same group viewed pictures of different sports scenes(P > 0.05);there was no difference in the correct rate of prediction when college basketball players of different groups viewed pictures of the same sports scenes(P>0.05).(7)Correlation analysis of the indicators in the professional group: the average gaze time was significantly and positively correlated with the average pupil diameter and the average gaze number, and was significantly and negatively correlated with the average first gaze time;the average gaze number was significantly and positively correlated with the pre-judgment reaction time and the pre-judgment correct rate.(8)Correlation analysis of the indicators in the amateur group: the mean number of gaze was significantly and positively correlated with the mean pupil diameter, the mean gaze time, and the pre-judgment reaction time;the mean gaze time was significantly and positively correlated with the pre-judgment reaction time.Conclusion:(1)There are significant differences between college basketball players in the amateur group and college basketball players in the professional group in terms of oculomotor characteristics and decision making ability, which show that college basketball players in the professional group have superior visual search ability, higher information processing efficiency and more sensitive prediction reaction speed.(2)The sports scenes had effects on the eye-movement characteristics and decision-making ability of college basketball players, which showed that the sports scenes had positive effects on the information processing degree of college basketball players in both groups, and negative effects on the pre-judgment reaction speed of college basketball players in the amateur group.(3)The average number of gaze of college basketball players in the professional group was closely and positively correlated with the pre-judgment reaction time and the pre-judgment correct rate;the average number of gaze of college basketball players in the amateur group was closely and positively correlated with the pre-judgment reaction time.
