The Impact Of Household Asset On Child Well-being

In recent years,studies on child welfare have gradually increased,the importance of child welfare in the developing process of children is increasingly valued,so how to improve the overall level of child welfare has also become the focus of many scholars.Therefore,the relationship between family asset construction and child development has attracted the attention of many scholars.This study based on the theory of asset construction,to explore the relationship between family asset and child welfare levels,and finally put forward some targeted suggestions to improve the level of child welfare.Based on data from 2799 children of aged 10-15 years and their families in the 2018 China Family Panel Survey(CFPS),investigates the relationship between family assets on child welfare in multiple dimensions.The study finds that children living in households with higher family assets had better overall benefits than children living in households with lower asset values;Second,the impact of different types of assets on girls is more pronounced than on boys,for girls,families with more assets perform better in different child welfare dimensions;Third,for children living in rural areas,the correlation between family assets and child welfare is less pronounced,children living in urban areas are more likely to be affected by family assets;Fourth,there are differences in the influence of different types of family assets on children living in eastern,central and western of China,Children living in the eastern region are more likely to be affected by family assets.This study explores the relationship between family assets and five dimensions of children’s welfare,the research results not only enrich and develop the theory of asset construction,but also enrich the empirical research results in this field,it has theoretical reference significance for future scholars;It can help better understand the current situation of child welfare in China,also provide reference for Chinese families and child welfare policies,provide theoretical support for asset-based child welfare policies.At the practical level,through the study of the relationship between family assets and child welfare,it can better provide practical basis for the practice of children’s social work,and promote the development of the social work of children in the country;For families,this study also helps parents understand the importance of family asset building for child development and aware of the impact of child welfare on child development,then take corresponding prevention and response measures.
