| With the continuous improvement of China’s overall national strength and the proposal and implementation of relevant policies,international students have become more and more in the 21 st century.In 2017,there are 489,200 overseas students receiving higher educatin in China.China has become the biggest country where international students study in Asia.As the number and scale of international students rise,improving education quality of international students has become a hot issue for Chinese government and universities.As the highest percentage of registered overseas students enrolled in academic institutions aroud Shandong,China University of Petroleum(East China)is constantly pursuing breakthroughs in recruiting international students and providing educational services.It has become one of the first institutions to pass the quality certification about overseas students’ studying in China and has achieved outstanding results in the national“Chinese Bridge”,international academic seminars and so on.In the education and training of international students,the University of Petroleum has excellent achievements and experience,and there is also room for improvement.Based on this background,through international students’ learning satisfaction from international students’ point of view,the author selects international students in China University of Petroleum(East China)as samples and adopts self-made questionnaire of international students’ learning satisfaction to measure students’ satisfaction towards five factors of learning satisfaction,including teachers’ teaching,resources and facilities,management support,courses and learning outcomes and interpersonal relationship.And the author studys whether the gender,major and other demographic factors have different effects on satisfaction.The result of this questionnaire shows that the mean of international students’ overall learning satisfaction is 3.57,which is at the upper middle level.In other words,most students are satisfied towards learning in China University of Petroleum(East China).The score of above factors from high to low is: teachers’ teaching,courses and learning outcomes,interpersonal relationship,resources and facilities and management support.Among them,the high levels of students’ satisfaction are teachers’ teaching and courses and learning outcomes.The lower are resources and facilities,and management support.In each factor,there are aspects needed to improve.Otherwise,referring to population information influencing international students’ learning satisfaction,the result of SPSS suggests the gender,major,student category,the language of class and whether the scholarship is awarded have no impact on learning satisfaction and the five factors.Continent which students from merely has significant impact on satisfaction of interpersonal relationship.Hours in China merely have a significant impact on sources and facilities,and courses and learning outcomes.Different Chinese levels merely have a significant impact on management support and courses and learning outcomes.Finally,according to the result of questionnaire and interview,this dissertation comes up suggestions to improve international students’ learning satisfaction from the angle of university,teachers and students.From the angle of university,the university should improve the quality of net service,optimize the academic exchange environment and strengthen management training.From the angle of teachers,they should cultivate multicultural consciousness,improve teaching methods,communicate with students actively,improve English and strengthen teaching ability.From the angle of students,they should improve Chinese to integrate into school life,and actively expand their circle of friends. |
