Research On The Current Situation And Development Strategy Of Swimming In Zhejiang Universities

Swimming,as an indispensable activity as well as a useful survival skill in people’s modern life,the value of which is gaining increasing attention.It is universally acknowledged that Zhejiang Province is home to excellent conditions for swimming development,both in history and geology.In the meantime,as a province with powerful economy,Zhejiang’s favourable economic status is beneficial to the development and popularization of swimming.Given which,the swimming development in Zhejiang Province is remarkable.In recent years,with the improvement of swimming venues and facilities in Zhejiang undergraduate universities,swimming has gradually taken its position both in the curriculum and life of university students,and has developed.Therefore,a relatively comprehensive investigation on the current situation of undergraduate college swimming in Zhejiang Province can master and understand the dynamics of swimming in Zhejiang universities,and promote the development of swimming in colleges and universities.This thesis takes 30 undergraduate universities in Zhejiang Province as objects,adopting methods include but not limited to literature,fieldwork,interview,questionnaire and mathematical statistics,to investigate and analyze the current situation of swimming development.As the study shows,the conclusions are as follows:(1)One-third of colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province have swimming pools.The venue plays a decisive factor in the development of swimming,and there are obvious differences between whether there are venues.(2)The teaching staff is mainly young and middle-aged,and the education background is mainly master’s degree.The structure ratio is slightly uncoordinated,there are more men than women,and there is a lack of high-level talents;teachers have rich teaching experience and diverse teaching methods,but lack of teaching innovation.(3)Students have a certain interest in swimming with the purpose of physical exercise,recreation and entertainment;the frequency of afterschool exercise is moderate,and the organizing ability of student associations is deficient.Personal participation is the main form,and most of them participate in occasion.(4)Universities with venues can basically offer courses,and those who without venues almost cannot offer courses;Courses are listed as elective courses for ordinary students,and compulsory courses for physical education students;the content of the courses are mainly based on competitive swimming strokes such as breaststroke.(5)Zhejiang university swimming competitions have a certain scale,but there are few swimming competitions,students lack of exercise platform;The training frequency of college sports teams is mainly 2-3times a week,and there will be conflicts between study and training.(6)The funds of colleges and universities are mainly invested in swimming games and training,which lack the ability to earn money from the main business.The funds are mainly from schools,and the economic source channels are single.(7)The University Swimming Association focuses on competition,holds a swimming competition for college students every year,and organizes a training and assessment for coaches and referees.In other areas,the work of the Association has not been touched.In order to promote the further development of swimming in undergraduate universities in Zhejiang Province,the following development strategies are put forward:(1)Solve the site problem and promote the development of swimming;(2)Optimize site management and improve site utilization;(3)Improve the structure of teachers and enhance the level of teachers;(4)Promote curriculum reform and enrich after-school exercise;(5)Solve the contradiction between learning and training and improve the competition system;(6)Improve the work of the Association and give play to the role of the Association;7)We will enhance policy orientation and promote overall development.
