| Advanced Placement program(AP)is an advanced elective course designed for American high school students.It is a very influential national education program in the United States.It has great advantages in applying for University,deducting credits,graduating ahead of time and saving tuition if you pass the examinations of this program.The College Board has been operating the AP program with the concept of "excellence and equity",and is committed to allowing more academically prepared students to participate in the program,so as to achieve academic success.However,in the actual development,AP program encountered the problem of educational equity,and how to solve the educational equity predicament of AP program is also the main content of this paper.This study mainly adopts the methods of literature research,historical research and comparative research.It includes four parts: the development and predicament of AP program,the concepts and measures of promoting educational equity,the effects and disputes of measures to promote educational equity,and the introspection to CAP pilot program.The first chapter combs the development of AP program in the United States since1950 s,finds and summarizes the predicament of educational equity in the development,which is mainly reflected in the disadvantaged students’(ethnic/race minorities,low-income students)weak position in the AP program.The second chapter analyzes the concept of educational equity of AP program,and the measures of the federal government and state governments,the College Board,social organizations,high schools and universities under the predicament of educational equity and the guidance of the concept of educational equity.The third chapter is the effects and disputes of AP program.Finally,the fourth chapter analyzes the current development of Chinese Advanced Placement Program and draws the introspection for the CAP pilot program.From the perspective of educational equity,it summarizes history and educational equity predicament of AP program in different periods.On this basis,it expounds the educational equity promotion strategy of AP program from four aspects: American government,the College Board,social organizations,high schools and universities.It also puts forward some introspection on CAP pilot program from these four aspects. |
